Landlord/Tenant Counselor Trainee
The Fair Housing Council of the Capital Region, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Landlord/Tenant Services- Eviction Prevention Counselor Trainee. If you have excellent listening skills, are willing to learn and contribute to the development of new or emerging housing related strategies and are committed to helping your community – we have a place for you on our team.
The incumbent will be trained in Landlord/Tenant counseling and mediation strategies including government regulations, polices and legislation regarding pandemic related housing assistance programs. The trainee will also be the Council’s primary point-of-contact for public information related to Covid-19 housing assistance and other social services programs created for the purpose of eviction prevention.
This is a 20 hour per week, volunteer position and the incumbent will be paid a bi-weekly stipend. The position could transition to regular employment after the 6-week training period.
- Associate's Degree or at least two year's experience in human services, nonprofit management, counseling or related field
- Experience working in Excel spreadsheets
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with access to a car
